Java SE Development Kit is an extensive collection of tools designed for software development and Java-based applications.
JDK provides full support for command line and has an editor of Java code, providing developers a powerful environment to build and test their applications.
The OpenJDK Community provides public access to a large collection of projects with a common goal of experimentation and evolution of the JDK platform. However, some parts of the community are available only to members of this project JDK with the investigative role of the project and according to the Java Research License (JRL) terms.
Source snapshots of JDK 7 and JDK 6 under the JRL license are available through subversion repository, accessible only to JDK JDK Senior researcher or function for the project JDK.
Java SE Development Kit contains:
- Development Tools located in the sub directory bin / for the development, implementation, debugging and documenting programs.
- Java Runtime Environment located in the JRE / sub directory containing a Java virtual machine, class libraries, and other files that allow the execution of Java-based programs.
- Additional class libraries and support files located in the sub directory lib /.
- The demo applets and applications located in the demo / sub directory, containing examples of Java programming source platform.
- Sample code (in the sub directory of the sample) - programming samples for a range of Java APIs.
- C header files (the include / sub directory) that support programming in native code via the Java Native Interface, the JVM Tool Interface, and other functionality of the Java platform.
- Source Code (in src.zip) containing source files for all classes contained in the core Java API (source files for the java * * java and some org * packages, but not for com.sun * packages ....).
Java SE Development Kit JDK 8 Update 74 is licensed as Freeware for OS / Windows platform system. Java SE Development Kit JDK is offered as a free download for all software users (Freeware).
